Tutorial: Facebook Video

By: Anna Luckey - Posted November 11th, 2010

Since Adcuda has begun offering Video Marketing, and we’ve started making videos of our own, we wanted to post them to our Facebook Fan page. No problem, right? This ended up being a day-long ordeal that involved loads of Google searches and tutorial watching, yet no one else seemed to think it was the most un-user-friendly system ever. It is. So I decided to make a picture tutorial that will hopefully help all of the other normal people out there dealing with social media.

1: Edit Page
Once you’re logged into Facebook, go to the Page you’d like to add Video to. Below your Page’s profile picture, click ‘Edit Page’.

2: Open Applications
Once you’re Editing your Page, click on the Application link on the left side of the screen.

3: Browse More Applications
You’ll see the list of all the Applications that you currently have running on your Facebook Page (examples of some Applications you may already have running are Twitter feeds or Static FBML), but at the very bottom of the page you’ll want to click on the link ‘Browse more applications >>’.

4: Search for Video
In the top left, type ‘Video’ in the Search Bar.

5: Find the Right Video Application
There are tons of different Video Applications (Russian news? Japanese anime?). Facebook’s Video Application has lately been on Page 2 (click the Page 2 arrow at the top to scroll over). Click the one that simply says ‘Video’ and has the black box with the white arrow.

6: Add to Your Page
Each Application has it’s own Page where people can comment or make suggestions. Skip all this garbage and click ‘Add to my Page’ below the Profile picture.

7: Choose Which Page You Want To Add Video To
A pop-up will appear asking you which Page you would like to add Video to. If you’ve created multiple Pages for different businesses, you would have a list of each of them here. Click the button ‘Add to Page’ next to the correct one, and then it will disappear leaving you with an empty box. Click ‘Close’ at the bottom right.

8: Done & Done
Voila! Go back to your Page and click the little ‘>>’ tab at the top of your Page. Video should now be one of those extra options (if you don’t have as many tabs as our Adcuda page does, it would just become one of your tabs at the top. If you’d like to move the tabs around, simple click and drag to the desired location.

This tutorial should work for any other Applications you would like to add to your Facebook Page. Happy Facebooking!
